Entertainer Blogger Award

OMG thaks so much to Pokeninja for this lovely award ;w;

The Rules of The Entertainer Blogger Award:

  • Write a post including the award picture.
  • Nominate 12 other bloggers who are funny, inspiring, and most importantly ENTERTAINING!
  • Add these rules to the post.
  • Thank the person who nominated you and leave a link to their blog!
  • Also, answer the questions down below.

1. Why did you start to blog in the first place?

This a good question, and I answer it partly in the About Section:

“I created this blog to mainly share my thoughts on manga titles, post photos of merch and fangirl over Visual Novels” + practice english.

The second part of the answer is this: (Story time!)

When I was about 17 years old, a bit after I realised those odd cartoons I liked were called anime, I got super interested in manga and scans, this led me to actually be a part of an english scanlation group and also part of the forum and the community.  My written english wasn’t exactly great but I could talk to them, laugh together, ask for advice, give advice, etc… I met lovely people there that helped me much more than they’ll ever know. This was the MSN Messenger golden era, so we would make chat groups that lasted hours! also because of time zones, I was pretty much always chatting late at night, we had people from USA, Canada, Australia, Europe etc it was amazing! I also sometimes helped one of them with her spanish homework xD

Sadly, after a couple of years the scanlation group died and so did the forum, eventually I lost track of all my english speaking friends. This was on 2010 so it’s been 6 years… since then I became active in the spanish anime/manga community, and they are also very lovely *waves to her friends who read this blog*. On January I was nominated for a tag in which I had to answer if I would ever consider translating my blog into english to make it more “international”… I had actually thought about it before but doing bilingual posts just seemed so messy, a new blog sounded like a better idea. The question also reminded me once more of all the great memories I had from the english community, giving me the final push in order to make “HobbyLuv” happen. (And you are all very lovely too *cries*)

*End of story time* (That was loooong)

2. What is your favorite book?

I don’t think I’ve read enough to have a favorite book ;-;

3. What do you dislike the most?

The answer I give to this question is always the same; I hate when people don’t respect my time. Specifically:

  • I hate unexpected visits… I love my friends but if one of the calls me and says “Hey I’ll be at your house in 10 min” … I’ll hit them… especially since that’s a statement, not a question which makes me even angrier >c  I like having friends over, but I really dislike when people just think of their own convenience without thinking of your plans. (I’m ok if its morning and people ask about plans for the evening, but this few-minutes-advance warning makes me super mad).
  • People being late. I stopped doing things in order to be here on time… why are you not here?!

4. What’s your favorite food item from the mall?

Quesadillas with lots of guacamole (I love guacamole xD) or Chicken Shawarma! and Red Velvet cupcake! Depends on my mood(?)

5. What is your favorite pastime activity?

All my hobbies then xDDD manga, games, series. Recently I have begun watching more american series and Korean dramas, just a few since I don’t have that much time ;A;

Ps: I went to the mall today, ate Shawarma and brought home some hummus ;w;

CREATIVE BLOGGER AWARD / Versatile Blogger Award

Super-mega-late post, for over a week I was super busy and after that my brain just turned into mush, I had to take a break from everything ;O;

I just spent the last few days (besides working less) reading manga, catching up with some anime series, and playing games :D. Btw at the beginning of February I won two games! Family Fishing from Chic-Pixel‘s giveaway and Shou’s route from Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons, that’s a lot of luck considering I never win anything xD I also got Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright, I am a complete newbie at Fire Emblem games and jrpgs in general, but it has been really fun (I feel like I’m training pokemons when someone from my party levels up :_D). This week I’ll write a bit about my new experience with Fire Emblem and a bit about Serendipity of Aons, Shou wouldn’t have been my first choice, but I actually found his route quite sweet.

I’m also gonna try to catch up with all the blog posts I missed these days >A> (I’ve been skimming through my feed and there are a lot of posts!)

Now onto the awards, I got two awards by the lovelies PokeNinja and Crimson, thanks a lot! Sorry for being so late D;

  2. I have lots of keychains for my keys… I have tried to keep it simple with just one but they keep slowly increasing… I currently have a Kitty with a little bell, Umaru and a little puncher that makes kitty shaped holes >w> (I’m a dog person but kitties are cute, don’t judge me).
  3. I have a dog named after Carl’s wife in Disney’s Up! My Ellie is a little black english cocker spaniel c:
  4. As I said, the last couple of weeks work got super busy, after everything was done I slept for over 12 hours! (I kind of do this since my university days, after a busy week I hibernate for a day).
  5. I also spent Valentine’s Day working orz (Not that I had a date, but I could have at least gone out to eat with friends or played otome >:c)

Versatile Blogger Award

  • Share 7 things about yourself.

(Thinking about so many facts is hard! I’m going to try to keep this one otaku related)

  1. One of my favourite mangas of all time is Yotsuba&! Reading it always makes me smile ❤
  2. I have two Yotsuba figures (one plastic model and one revoltech), and six Danbos (revoltech, danbo mini, mini plastic model, 3 nyanboards), oh! I also have a little Danbo as a phone charm! because yes, I love them :_D
  3. This anime season I’m trying to keep up with 4 ongoing series… which doesn’t sound like a lot, but I pretty much watched one anime per-year until last year. By the end of 2015 I had watched 7 animes (I was pretty surprised). Since I was busy, I got behind on some series, and getting away from spoilers has been awful… *sobs* I love twitter, but I wanna kill so many people for giving me peeks of the chapters I haven’t seen yet D;
  4. I got into anime/manga when I was 16, and the fist manga I read properly, was Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. I reaaaaaally like it, and it will always be special ;w;  I’m finally buying the Kodansha Omnibus version of TRC, but I still haven’t re-read it, I’d like to have the whole series first and prepare myself mentally before that (so much angst ;A;).
  5. I have also been using the alias Nozomi since I was 16 😀
  6. I got into BL in 2014, after I accidentally downloaded a manga thinking it was shojo xDD after that, I got curious, and now… well I’m just another fujoshi :_D
  7. I name my things… as in… my cellphone is called Kuro (this was before Haikyuu), my laptop is named Haru, etc etc (Not all of them have Japanese names, for example, my camera is called Pixel xD)

I hope that was interesting 😀 I’ll go read blogs now >w>

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.

Thanks to Crimson ❤

This is something that I have to keep reminding myself:

This is hard! Trying not to compare yourself to people that are your same age or have similar careers. But in the end, comparing yourself to others isn’t really going to help you grow and will only leave you frustrated. And I’m no talking about seeking inspiration, looking up to someone is completely different to comparing yourself to someone.

Somedays I look back on the things I’ve accomplished and think I should have done so much more, I look at my old classmates, at my friends… people are working in big companies, traveling, getting degrees, owning their own businesses… and sometimes I feel small. But! It’s no like I’ve been lazing around all this years, I have my own accomplishments. Compared to the me from 2 years ago, I have done a whole lot of growing and I’m way more stronger c:

So, even if you compare yourself to others (it’s natural to do so), remember your own achievements. Chances are, someone out there is also trying to catch up to you.
